Artist's Description

This figure of a woman holding a hoe across her lap is painted in oil on canvas using a sponge. The colors are shade of blue. Light tones suggest sunshine falling across the woman as she rests under trees. This is part of the woman-series of large, square canvases depicting women in traditional roles.
